| Play Children's Games: There are some great children's games that seem to have been around forever! Children love playing games, and with you joining in...they'll grin from ear to ear! If you have an idea for an activity that you'd like to see listed here, let us know! You'll get full credit for submitting it to us. Ring Around the Rosie Hide and Seek Red Light, Green Light, 123 Indian Chief Simon Says May I? Treasure Hunt Glow Toy Ring Around the Rosie: Children hold hands and sing, "Ring around the rosie, a pocket full of posies. Ashes, ashes, we all fall down!". Then they all softly fall to the ground. Hide and Seek: The chosen child hides his/her eyes and counts to ten, while the other children find a hiding place. At ten, the chosen child searches for the hidden children; when one if found and "tagged", it's their turn to hide their eyes. Red Light, Green Light, 123: Chosen children who play this game turn away from the other children playing the game. While he/she's turned around they yell, "Red light green light, one two three!", and then they turn around to face the children who are running closer and trying to tag him. If anyone's caught moving when the chosen child turns around, they have to go back to the beginning. Indian Chief: Many children sit in a circle "indian style", while one chosen child leaves the room. One child is chosen from the circle to be the indian chief, and begins doing an action while the others follow him/her (ie: clapping hands) before the chosen child returns. The chosen child then returns to the circle and sits down in his/her spot, and tries to figure out who the indian chief is. The indian chief leads the other children by doing different actions (such as patting hands on head, patting legs), and tries not to get discovered by the chosen child. When he/she's guessed 3 times, the indian chief then has to leave the room and another chief is chosen. Simon Says: One child is chosen to be the leader, and starts telling the other children what actions to do (hands on head, touch your knees). The children can only follow Simon if he/she says, "Simon says.." before the action. Whoever follows Simon when he/she doesn't say, "Simon says..", is out. May I?: One child is chosen to be the leader. He/she then takes turns telling the other children which steps to take (baby steps, giant steps, hopping steps), but the children must ask, "May I?" first. If they forget, they have to go back a few steps. Treasure Hunt: Children love to search for things, especially when they're not asked to! Hide a few "treasures" and then leave a "map" and hints so the children can have fun searching for the treasure. Glow Toy: This game is played at night. Toys that glow add a different dimension to hide and seek. Hide the glowing toy but leave a part of it showing so it'll be visible to the child searching for it. Lots of fun to find that glowing toy!
