St Aiden's Newsletter27-08-07 Hello Everyone I'll start off with a request to members of our mailing list. I have recently obtained a www storefront and am a merchant in another site. I would really appreciate reviews on the eBooks I have been making. Some are small and some are quite big files. I have only published a few books as I need feedback and comments/criticisms before I go the whole way and upload the other 48 or so that are ready and waiting to be published. You can either review them in the site itself where they will give you limited information or you can mail me and I will send you a copy per mail. You would then be required to post a review within that specific site, and/or also on your own personal blog, and then let me please have the URL to that. I need 5 reviewers per eBook. The books that now fall under a publisher are at this url http://www.lulu.com/donnette and then the other site that also requires reviews is here: http://store.payloadz.com/results/results.asp?m=57525 The eBooks are larger versions for the most part of some of the free eBooks you will find on St Aiden's. On these sites you can also sign up as an affiliate and earn a commission if you post the link on your site or blog and someone buys a book through that link - it's a fun way of earning a few $ for doing nothing much... :) Are there any people who are interested in doing a review for me? PLEASEEEEEEEEEE Recent updates include the Africa unit studies/notebooks. Where we started off with one u/s per country, I have moved into developing 3 or 4 for various age groups, and also digitalizing material to create eBooks of folk tales or myths relating to that country. Savannah has decided that simple pop-up books for preschoolers would be a really fun way to learn about countries in Africa. I am looking into that. I have only got as far as Botswana (doing it alphabetically) and even that is not finished but the material can be accessed at this link: http://www.staidenshomeschool.com/africa/countries/Africa-Countries.html You will also find an interactive crossword puzzle and other free printables on every finalised individual country page. Well worth spending some fun time on is http://www.staidenshomeschool.com/africa/interactivemapofafrica.html For younger kids they may prefer this http://www.staidenshomeschool.com/africa/africageographyquiz.html You will find loads of free Africa-related educational software & printables for download at http://www.staidenshomeschool.com/africa/africancrafts/AfricanArtsnCrafts.html To be uploaded in the next week or so is our eBook A to Z of African countries, a notebook of gigantic proportions, as well as African literature and unit studies, and children's stories. Free printables will accompany all of these units. Our featured site this week is www.abc123kidz.com - a fantastic colourful user-friendly site where once you get in you won't want to leave. Clearly Loraine has spent an inordinate amount of time creating and resourcing material for educators and learners, and this site is so well worth a visit. Have a fantastic and a blessed week.
