| Heart Necklaces Materials: Red construction paper Straws Yarn Tape Pencil or hole punch Preparation: Cut approximately eight 3 x 7.5cm hearts out of red construction paper for each child. In the center of the hearts, use a pencil point or hole punch to make holes that are slightly smaller than the holes in the straws you are using. Cut straws into 11/4 cm sections. For each child, cut a piece of 18-45 cm. Tie a straw section at one end and tape the other end to make a "needle." Method: Let the children make necklaces by stringing the hearts between the straw sections on their pieces of yarn. Have them begin and end their necklaces with a section of straw. Tie the yarn ends together when the children have finished. |
