group of children, you can make more than one magic fishing
pole. Split the preschoolers up into groups of three, with one
magic fishing pole per station. The preschoolers will still need to
take turns.
one large disc craft magnet
one long piece of green yarn
gold paint or gold tissue paper or glitter glue (optional)
star stickers (optional)
Paint the long craft stick gold, or coat with glitter glue. This step is
completely optional. The plain natural wood color of the craft
stick will work too.
Another option for decorating the Magic Fishing Pole is to use
simple star stickers. Again, this is optional.
Use duct tape to attach the piece if green thread to the end of
the pole. (Unless you found a craft stick with a hole in the end).

Find a round, wide container that you can use to become the
pot of gold. There are many items that you can use for the Pot of
Gold. You can use a large, plastic mixing bowl. Or dig out an
orange or black candy bowl or plastic cauldron from Halloween.
You could also cut the top half of a gallon milk container off, as
long as you sand the rough edge or cover it with paper.
Cover the container with green tissue paper. Or decorate it with
green construction paper.
